One part of a documentary on animal abuse areas such as science, food consumption, entertainment. A warning that this is quite graphic.

I gave up meat a couple months ago, partly because of living conditions, or lack thereof, for animals used for human consumption, mostly because the more I considered what I was consuming, the more it grossed me out. This clip was a good reminder that I made a wise choice..in my opinion.

I'm interested in seeing people's responses. Other issues in the clip really opened my eyes. I had no idea some of these practices took place and it greatly affects my stance on certain issues. Will discuss as we go..if people respond.

So where do you stand? Where do you draw the line?

While a propaganda piece, it's not like these things were created out of thin air. I've been a hunter for much
of my life. I don't go running around the woods blowing animals away with a machine gun, I prefer to use
an arrow and I eat what I kill. With no natural predators for deer, they are quickly overpopulating in this and
other states. As it is, we are providing a service to the state and pumping tens of millions into enviro services.

I've no plans to stop eating meat ever, but I don't like the way such animals are treated. A lot of things in
life we don't like but we suck it up and move ahead. Some things necessities, some choices but they feel
and affect us the same. I don't think veg is the answer in getting animal treatment to change, actually
I would say if sales really were affected, it would get worse when they have to cut back. Elected officials,
gov't policies and legit inspections are the better way to make change.

As for the circus, or scientific testing, I think it's horrendous.

Eating vegetarian may not bring an end to slaughterhouses but it certainly helps me sleep better at night knowing that I'm not part of the supply and demand part of that ritual anymore.

Its ridiculous, in my opinion, to shrug your shoulders and say "It's going to happen anyways, so I may as well partake."

Its a shame you couldn't point that crossbow at the general population as the world is vastly overpopulated with us bothersome humans who are quickly diminishing resources and devastating nature. But of course...that's alright.

As a carnivore, I don't see myself giving up on the consumption of meat.

There is never going to be an acceptable method of killing the animals that we are consuming - we are killing them after all, just not chasing them down and clamping down on their throats as other animals do to their prey.

I do think there needs to be tough regulation on the living conditions on these animals and inspections to make sure that they do live a comfortable life while we are raising them.  I mean it isn't right to abuse the animal that we are leading to slaughter in the end.  I find it appalling the way that some of these slaughter houses treat the animals.

I didn't watch your video as I have seen enough of those types of videos and I don't need to see any more.

For humans I'd rather use a machine gun.  Wink Wink

Jayde, I guess the real problem is that no one wishes to make an effort till it actually affects them.

Humans are quite selfish by nature. :/
